Okay so here goes, after going 4-1 in D IV and going 3-2 out of Division that leaves me with an overall record for last week at a not so bad 7-3.
This week:
First the big one! Plymouth @ Trinity - Coach L. gets the troops back on track and starts a new streak. Plymouth shocks Trinity in a not very close game 28-14.
Lebanon @ Laconia - Lebanon gets their offense on track and wins a tough one on the road to stay unbeaten 28-21.
Kennett @ Hanover - Hanover simply has too many weapons to go 0-4. Despite a young O-Line they get their first win of the year. They beat the Eagles 14-13.
Stark @ Monadnock - The Huskies keep on rolling, evening their record at 2-2. They defeat Stark 28-6.
MV @ Kingswood - This one could go either way. When in doubt, go with the Home team. Kingswood by 6, final score 21-7.
Out of Division:
D I - Salem at Pinkerton - Pinkerton takes their 2nd loss in a row losing big to Salem 50-14.
D II - BG @ Merrimack - 2 unbeaten teams in a big game for both. This could be another playoff preview. ToJo and BG win on the road 32-28.
D III - Hollis/Brookline @ Souhegan - Souhegan is very tough at home (or away for that matter). Souhegan stays unbeaten 49-21.
D V - Somersworth at St. Thomas - St. Thomas has a very good team. They stay undefeated this week and win 20-6 at home.
D VI - I'm waiting for the showdown in D VI on 10/23 between Newport and Franklin, as both teams go be undefeated. But this week Newport beats a game Mascoma 52 -13.
Okay let's hear your picks!
OK in D-VI you are waiting for the game of Newport & Franklin. I will tell you right now Newport will be the only team undefeated in that matchup, and Newport will win with ease of Franklin...yes you heard it here first. Franklin as of yet have played only one good team and that was Gilford. Yes they won, but by 4 points and if Gilford didn't shoot themselves in the foot Gilford would have won that game. This is how D-VI playoffs will look...
ReplyDelete1.Newport
2.Newfound
3.Franklin
4.Gilford
So then I guess 6:17 prolly picks Newport to win this week :)
ReplyDeleteYou're picking Hanover over Kennett?! No way Hanover wins this game.
ReplyDeleteI guess the rest of your picks are reasonable, with perhaps the exception of the Lebanon/Laconia matchup, but Hanover over Kennett boggles my mind.
you know somethings wrong when Laconia and Plymouth both lose two games, they need all their talent back from 2 years ago...
ReplyDeleteI will say that while Laconia was game. They were simply outmatched by Lebanon. The reality is that Laconia was beaten in this game by a better Lebanon team. The Lebanon LB core is one of the best in D IV period.
ReplyDeleteBad Laconia team. Also Cody Patch beat Laconia. He RUNS that team completely.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd say we are a bad team. Holmes had that great run back at kick-off and we were able to punch it in. But the turn-overs and penalties killed us. Even still though, I never really had the "feeling" we were going to win that game. It seemed like every time we got something going they'd make a big play. I mean every pick they had was due to Hunter being harrassed or hit while throwing. I do agree though, the Patch kid was something else (too much arm tackling on our part), and that #39 kid from Lebanon, seemed like he was in the backfield pretty much all night. We did a very poor job picking up the blitz...but I wouldn't call us bad.
