Week 6 Recap

Well, I bet you could have heard a rat pee in a bale of cotton in Conway this weekend. I know, I know, the Eagles played at Monadnock. Regardless though, the Huskies brought their A-game and Kennett seems to have forgotten to get off the bus. Gratz Huskies.

Be that as it may, this throws D IV 's remaining playoff spots up for grabs. Kennett and Laconia still control there own destiny (to an extent), but now Plymouth and Monadnock must be feeling new life as we look forward to Week 7.

Kennett now has Trinity coming to town in what must feel like a "must win" game...and should they lose they WILL need to win the following week when they travel to Laconia.

On the other hand Laconia is riding high after upsetting the Newbury-less Bobcats as they travel to Kingswood to play the Knights. Yes, the Sachems should win this one, but as this week has shown us...that's why they play the games.

So, let's just theorize for a moment. What if, Kennett loses this game to Trinity and Laconia wins. That will leave Kennett at 4 -3 and Laconia at 5-2. Then let's say Plymouth (who plays MV) wins...which they should...AND Monadnock defeats Hanover (which is in no way a gimme). That will leave both Plymouth and Monadnock at 4-3.

What a log jam that will be! Especially given the fact that Laconia still has to play Kennett and Monadnock in Week 8 and 9.

Plymouth should on paper win at least 2 out of their last 3 (with Lebanon being the only question mark of their last 3 games).

Kennett by far has the toughest 3 games coming up comparatively with Trinity, Laconia and Kingswood to close out.

This could mean we could go into Week 9 with multiple games that actually mean something to the playoff picture! The situation at hand and the possibilities leave this blogger extremely excited!

Thoughts!~

PS> and yes I know I got lambasted with my picks this last week...but hey, who knew :)

  1. Any significance to the fact that as of Oct 13, NHIAA still had not posted the Kennett/Monadnock week 6 score or updated either team's record?

  2. Not sure why that would have happened, but wasn't any controversy at this game. Blake B. simply ran all over Kennett. They couldn't stop him.

  3. Kennett scored two minutes in and then proceeded to give up 34 consecutive points. Monadnock ran for over 400 yds and didnt punt once.

  4. 1:32 That would frustrate me to no end...how in the world do you ever know what Monadnock team is going to show up?

You get shelacked by Plymouth, barely beat Kinswood?! and then smoke Kennett...what's the deal?

  7. Yes, that was a big play in that game 6:08...a real momentum grabber for Lebanon. If the Huskies score on that opening drive instead of throwing the pick, the outcome could have been different.
