Well I think my divining rod went south for the winter last week as I was a dismal 6-4, bringing my year to date record at 30-10. Still not so bad I suppose. Last week those of us who were lucky enough to get a glimpse of what could be a championship preview, came away a touch surprised at the manner in which the Bobcats dispatched Trinity. Unlike a lot of people though, I truly believe that Trinity can definitely be competitive with Plymouth should they meet again in the playoffs. So, let's not hand the trophy to the Bobcats just yet, there's still a lot of football to play. Also, here it is week 5 approaching and no one is really talking about Bolewski's boys in Swanzey or Geppert and the all mighty Saints who are both touting big O's in the Loss column. It's just getting fun now.
Anyway, without any further ado, I've replaced the batteries in my defunct Crystal Ball and I have see the future and I am willing to share...
Merrimack Valley (3-1) at Pembroke (1-3) -
The Pride at 4-1???? Believe it. MV on top 24-14.
Portsmouth (3-1) at Kingswood (1-3) -
The Clippers improve to 4-1 and win big 50 -7.
Monadnock (4-0) at Laconia (2-2) -
Watch out for the Huskies as they move another step closer to perfection. Monadnock wins 21-7.
John Stark (1-3) at Souhegan (0-4) -
The Generals sheath the Sabres (yeah I know...), 14-10.
Hanover (1-3) at Kennett (2-2) -
Tight one, but the Marauders fall to 1-4 on the season. Kennett wins 28 - 24.
St. Thomas (4-0) at Hollis/Brookline (0-4) -
Surprised to see the Saints at 4-0? Coach Cumba is making a believer out of me! Saints improve to 5-0 beating HB 31-21.
Plymouth (4-0) at Lebanon (1-3) -
Purely on paper, Lebanon might be my biggest surprise this year. Bobcats have left few questions unanswered after last week. Plymouth rolls on 28-10.
Trinity (3-1) at Kearsarge (2-2) -
Pioneer power! Trinity rebounds in spectacular fashion, dispatching the Cougars 40 - 14.
MIlford (3-1) at Windham (3 -1) -
Tough one to call. I'm taking Urda/Jones and the visitors in this one Spartans on top 28-21.
Con-Val (0-4) at Sanborn (2-2) -
Sanborn takes this one and improves to 3-2. They might be a sleeper in DII South. Look for them to get on a roll starting this week. Sanborn on top 32-7.
Good luck to all teams!
